This chart compares the share of households with air conditioning across the 10 selected countries shown by the IEA. In Japan, the United States, and South Korea, AC is visible in almost every home; below Saudi Arabia and China, the gap widens quickly, and after Mexico and Brazil, some countries fall into single digits. Wall-mounted units in summer living rooms, window ACs, and outdoor condensers on apartment walls are ordinary household details in some places, but still far from universal in others.
